The Atlantic Trap & Gill Featured Bands

The Streels
Celtic/East Coast Music
A 'streel' is a slovenly person in Newfie-speak, but there's nothing shabby about this east-coast-on-the-west-coast quartet of virtuoso musicians, who sing and play an eclectic repertoire of original, maritime, and celtic tunes.

Their arrangements are fresh and innovative; their harmonies are seamless and tight. This is Great Big Sea with side-clutching stage banter and infectious energy.

Pat Chessell
Eclectic mix of Folk/Pop
Pat Chessell, a solo artist from Vancouver, BC who has made quite a name for himself on the Western Canadian music scene. Pat has opened for such acts at The Brent Lee Band and The Town Pants and has played his own shows in some of Vancouver's hottest nightclubs such as Atlantic Trap & Gill, Doolins Irish Pub, The Limerick Junction, The Roxy, Roosters and many more.

Heavily influenced by acts such as the Johnny Cash, The Clancy Brothers, Pogues and Blue Rodeo, he has gained a strong, loyal fanbase due to his exceptional acoustic guitar playing, warm, passionate vocals and his [often downright funny] stage presence.

Skystone

Celtic Rock
The Celtic group "Skystone" was formed in January 2000 by leader Adrian Duncan solely on the premises that playing music is fun, that it's even more fun when it's done with tried and tested friends, and that it's the most fun of all when it's played with such friends amid convivial surroundings in the company of an appreciative audience.

The band is an acoustic ensemble featuring instruments such as fiddle, guitar, piano, bass, mandolin, flute, penny-whistle and percussion as well as a strong vocal line-up. A wide variety of musical styles are covered, as detailed in our music.

Coppery Sky

The best Maritime & Celtic Music
Since 2002, PAUL EVENDEN, MARY BRUNNER, JENNIE BICE and ERNIE HIGGINS have been pleasing audiences with their lively style of music all around the Lower Mainland.

For the best in Maritime and Celtic music come watch Copper Sky; you will not be dissapointed.

The WhiskeyDicks

Edgey Celtic Rock
Described as "one hell of a good time", The Whiskeydicks have spent the past few years carving a reputation for themselves throughout the Lower Mainland and as far away as the Yukon. What began as a couple of friends who enjoyed playing music together in front of the Deep Cove Liquor Store in North Vancouver, soon gathered momentum and a couple more members to become The Whiskeydicks as they are known today.

Notorious for being a bit cheeky, their shows have been met with growing enthusiasm from audiences. With a couple of small tours and soon to be a second huge gig at the infamous Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, The Whiskeydicks are commited to playing and gigging into the future.

Three Row Barley

Maximum Celtic Rock
Three Row Barley, the best Canadian Celtic band around, belting out that 'Maximum Celtic'.

Thundering vocals, sizzling fiddle and enough presence to pull you right up onto the table-top.

Led by Roger Buston (formerly of top local band The Quenchers), Three Row Barley specializes in a great time and organic vocal harmony from Roger (lollopin' guitar and vocal), and Brian Taylor (rumblin' bodhran and vocal), with Chris Williscroft (thumpin' bass and mandolin) rounding out the sound. Fiddle duties covered off by some of Vancouver's best-known names, such as 'Dangerous' Mary Brunner out of Copper Sky, Jenny Bice from Prydwen and White Rock's own Avery Yackel. Lorne Warr of The Streels adds great banjo, mandolin and traditional vocals to this rich mixture.
